Reset the sample case

Written by Skyler Lambert

Every account comes with a sample case — a ready-made case you and your colleagues can use to practice uploading exhibits, running a deposition, and trying out AgileLaw's tools without touching real matters. Because it's meant for practice, you can put it back exactly the way you found it whenever you like.

Who can do this: account administrators. Other users see a Hide Sample Case option instead.

Reset the sample case

  1. Open the sample case, then choose Edit Case.

  2. In the Edit Case window, click Reset Case.

  3. AgileLaw asks you to confirm. Resetting the sample case restores it to its original condition for everyone on your account:

    • All annotations are removed

    • Documents you uploaded are removed

    • Deleted and renamed documents are restored

    • Added depositions are removed and started ones are reset

    • Mock deposition sessions are concluded

  4. Confirm to reset. When it's done you'll see Sample case restored to its original condition, and the sample case reopens fresh.

Good to know

  • It resets for the whole account. The sample case is shared, so any changes you or your colleagues made are cleared for everyone. Reset it whenever you want a clean starting point for a demo or training session.

  • You can't reset it during a live session. If a deposition in the sample case is still in progress, conclude it first — AgileLaw will ask you to.

  • Want to keep your own work? The sample case is for practice only and doesn't accept document uploads. To work with your own files, create a new case; you can reset the sample case any time without affecting your real cases.
