Edit a case

Written by Skyler Lambert

To edit a case, open it and click the pencil (Edit case) icon next to the case name in the header.

The case screen — click the pencil icon next to the case name

This opens the Edit Case window. Fields marked with a red asterisk are required. Here you can update the case's:

  • Display Name

  • Case Number

  • Plaintiff and Defendant

  • Judge

  • Internal Case / Matter Number

  • Notes

You can also customize the case's exhibit sticker from here — click Click to customize beneath the sticker preview (see the "Custom Exhibit Stamps" article for details).

The Edit Case window and its editable fields

When you're finished, click Save Case. This window is also where you open Manage Case, Archive Case, or Delete Case.

Archiving a case

Archiving removes a case from your active list without deleting it — an archived case stays viewable and can be restored later, and archived cases don't count toward your usage limits. Restoring a case can take up to 24 hours to complete. See the "Archive a case" article for the full walkthrough.
