If you need to claw back a document for any reason (privilege, confidentiality, wrong version, and so on), AgileLaw gives attorneys the ability to remove documents from the participants' view with the clawback function. Only a document that has been revealed in the current deposition can be clawed back. A clawed-back document is replaced with a placeholder PDF stating that the document was clawed back.
While a document is revealed, participants see it under a generic name — Document 1, Document 2, and so on — never your private alias or the original filename. After a clawback, that placeholder is all they see.
To claw back a revealed document, select it, then choose Clawback from the document's Actions. A pop-up asks you to confirm the request.
After you click Yes, a Clawback label appears under the document name, and the document's action changes to Reveal.
If you clawed back the wrong document, or you want to show it again, click Reveal. That removes the Clawback label and makes the document viewable to participants once more.
For participants, the clawback placeholder PDF is stamped with the date, the time, and the user who clawed the document back.
Once the deposition has been concluded, documents can no longer be clawed back.
